Taro Reports "A'' Bond Rating in Israel

HAWTHORNE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 2006--Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (\"Taro,\" \"the Company,\" NASDAQ: TARO) today reported that it has received an \"A\" rating from Maalot, the Israeli affiliate of Standard & Poor's, based on the rating standard employed in Israel, for the debt securities previously issued by the Company in Israel. The prior Maalot rating of the debt securities was \"A+.\"

The new \"A\" rating does not affect the terms of bonds previously issued by Taro.
