Dr. Wilkerson co-founded Galen in 1990. Dr. Wilkerson has focused on healthcare throughout his career, beginning as a Group Product Director for Ortho Diagnostics Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company. He was with Smith Barney as a Vice President specializing in medical analysis and research before moving to Channing, Weinberg & Co., Inc. in 1980 – the firm he purchased and turned into The Wilkerson Group, a leading healthcare consultancy sold to IBM.

Dr. Wilkerson currently serves on the Board of Directors of several of Galen’s privately held portfolio companies including Cardiva, Quotient BioDiagnostics Holdings, and TPS. Dr. Wilkerson is the immediate past Chairman of Atlantic Health Systems, a New Jersey hospital system, is a trustee and former President of the Museum of American Folk Art and founder of the E. L. Rose Conservancy. He earned a Ph.D. from Cornell University and is a member of the Cornell University Council and immediate past Chairman of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences advisory board.
