Investment Approach

Galen Partners seeks investments in which we can play an active and substantive role in working with company management to build organizations capable of performing to their full potential. Those arrangements include both control and minority ownership positions.

In general, companies that fit the Galen profile offer a proprietary product or service that serves a recognized healthcare market need. Our goal is to identify companies that have demonstrated the potential value of such products or services, most often through their ability to generate repeated customer sales.

Galen, targets healthcare companies who have achieved scale in traditional and emerging growth segments, seeking mid-to-late stage financing. At a minimum, we seek to invest in healthcare growth equity companies with proprietary products or services that have attained a meaningful revenue run-rate and have near-term prospects for positive cash flow.

Galen's healthcare venture capital investments are typically convertible preferred equity securities with an initial minimum investment of $10 million.
